The Ambassador Program is a province-wide network of people helping young Nova Scotians discover the careers, pathways and possibilities available in housing construction.
Whether you have years of industry experience, are just beginning your career, or are a young person interested in the skilled trades, there is a place for your perspective.
Choose your ambassador level. Choose how you want to participate. Help us build the next generation of the construction industry.
There are three ways to be an Ambassador. Your Ambassador level is based on where you are today not where you think you need to be.
INDUSTRY AMBASSADOR — You currently work in or are connected to housing construction.
EMERGING AMBASSADOR — You are exploring, entering or beginning your career.
YOUTH AMBASSADOR — You want to bring a youth voice to the industry and help other young.
Choose your level. Choose how you want to participate!

A workplace tour can reveal a career someone never knew existed.
Hearing from someone at the beginning of their career can make the skilled trades feel possible.
Ambassadors help make housing construction careers more visible, understandable and welcoming.
Your story doesn't need to be perfect. It needs to be real.
There is no single way to be an Ambassador.
When you apply, tell us which types of participation best fit your interests, experience and availability.
Connect with young people and communities through school visits, career fairs, Skilled Trades Camps, home shows, community events and other activities.
Help bring real construction stories online through reels, Q&As, day-in-the-life videos, career stories, tool demonstrations, myth-busting content and other features.
Help someone take their next step through coffee chats, group discussions, job shadows, career conversations and mentorship opportunities.
Bring young people closer to the industry by hosting workplace tours, demonstrating tools or skills, representing your employer, participating in industry days or connecting HCC with industry opportunities.
Some Ambassadors love speaking to a room full of students, others would rather mentor someone one-on-one, host a workplace tour or appear in a short video. This program is designed to give Ambassadors flexible ways to contribute.
We're looking for people who are willing to share their experiences, encourage others and help create positive connections to housing construction careers.
Ambassadors will receive onboarding and support from the Housing Construction Council to help them participate confidently in program activities.
Participation is flexible and opportunities will vary throughout the year based on Ambassador interests, location, availability and activities.
Whether you're established in the industry, taking your first steps into a construction career or ready to bring a youth voice to the conversation, there is a place for your story.
