Health and Safety Week!

This week, the Housing Construction Council of Nova Scotia (HCC) is recognizing Health and Safety Week and the importance of creating safe, healthy, and supportive workplaces across Nova Scotia’s construction industry.

In construction, health and safety goes beyond policies and procedures, it’s about protecting workers, supporting well-being, and creating job sites where everyone can work safely and confidently. From physical safety practices to mental health awareness, building a strong safety culture benefits both workers and the industry as a whole.

Why Health and Safety Matters:

Construction sites are fast-paced environments that require teamwork, communication, and awareness every day. Prioritizing health and safety helps reduce workplace injuries, encourages safer work habits, and supports workers both on and off the job site.

Health and Safety Week also provides an opportunity to learn from industry leaders and access resources that promote safer workplaces across Nova Scotia.

Partner Resources:

Throughout the week, we are sharing resources from industry partners who continue to promote workplace safety, education, and awareness.

WCB Nova Scotia is sharing resources focused on workplace safety, injury prevention, and creating healthier work environments. Their Health and Safety Week content also includes access to a safety webinar for workers and employers.

    Supporting Safer Workplaces:

At HCC, we recognize the importance of continued learning and awareness when it comes to workplace safety. Health and Safety Week is a reminder that creating safer workplaces is a shared responsibility, and that education, communication, and collaboration all play an important role in supporting workers across the industry.
