When Mare joined the program, she describes her confidence as depleted. She felt lost, uncertain about her future, and unsure of what came next. Through dedication, hard work, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities, she experienced remarkable personal growth.
"The program gave me the space, knowledge, and opportunity to grow. But it did more than that."
With the support and encouragement of Brett, Kyle, and Jessica from the Coldbrook team, Mare began to see herself in a new light. She developed confidence in her abilities, recognized her strengths, and discovered a passion for the skilled trades.
Since graduating from the program, Mare has achieved several significant milestones. She was hired immediately as a Skills Mentor with HCC, helping support others on their own career journeys. In April, she also began working full-time as a carpenter with a residential and commercial construction company and has since registered as an apprentice with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency.
Mare's story is a powerful example of how perseverance, support, and self-belief can transform uncertainty into opportunity. We are proud of everything she has accomplished and look forward to seeing her continue to grow and succeed in the skilled trades.
Congratulations, Mare!
