Tiny Home Construction Finishing Fundamentals Open HouseOn May 27, the Housing Construction Council welcomed industry leaders, family members, friends, community partners, and supporters to the Tiny Home Construction Finishing Fundamentals (THCFF) Open House in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The event provided an opportunity for guests to connect with participants and instructors, tour the build site, and learn more about the hands-on training experience that is preparing participants for careers in housing construction. Attendees were able to see the progress being made on the tiny homes firsthand and gain a better understanding of the skills and knowledge participants have developed throughout the program. The Tiny Home Construction Finishing Fundamentals program is a 10-week training experience that combines a hands-on microcredential with paid, on-site training. Participants develop practical skills in framing, roofing, subflooring, window installation, and building envelope systems while contributing to the construction of net-zero-ready, tiny homes. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended the Open House. Your support and interest in the program helped make the event a success. We are especially grateful to the industry leaders, family members, friends, and community partners who took the time to visit the site, celebrate participant achievements, and learn more about the important work being done to strengthen Nova Scotia's housing construction workforce.
